Indiana Romance Writers of America is a chapter of the Romance Writers of America® (RWA). Our Chapter was founded January 1, 1982, and incorporated in 1985. We are a professional organization dedicated to creating high-quality romance writing in all genres through the education and networking among authors, editors, agents, and others in the publishing industry. Our mission is to educate and encourage authors at all levels in their pursuit of excellence in romance writing.
We are an active chapter, with over forty-five members writing in a broad spectrum of romance genres. Beginning writers to multi-published authors make up our membership and all levels are welcome to join us. While we try to keep things light, keep our members motivated, and have a little fun, we never lose sight of the fact that romance writing is a business and an important part of the publishing industry.
Prospective members are invited to attend two monthly meetings prior to joining. Check out our Join page for information on how to become a member and to complete a membership form. Dues are $24 per year and are prorated according to the month membership begins.
